Laughing Gas, South Florida's Longest Running Improv Group Presents Shows Lampooning The Academy Awards

The Laughing Gas Comedy Improv Theatre Company continues their tradition of socially relevant comedy with a take off of the upcoming Acadamy Awards, in their shows Friday and Saturday, March 3 and 4, 11 p.m. at the Main Street Playhouse, 6766 Main Street, Miami Lakes. The Second Annual "Academy Aweirds" promises to poke fun at celebrity culture entertainment news, current films, Jon Stewart, and this year's Hollywood love-fest known as the Academy Awards.
The Laughing Gas Comedy Improv Theatre Company invites everyone named Oscar, with proof, to attend free of charge.
"We're continuing our 14th season of humor at the expense of the ever so popular, 'Academy Awards,' that affords us a great target to lampoon," says Laughing Gas Director Gerald Owens.
Laughing Gas has earned a reputation as the top comedy troupe in South Florida, having performed shows for many charities. They have been picked as a Social Miami "Pick of the Week," several times for their theme shows and were recently honored as Best-Short-Form Improv Troupe in Miami Dade County at the Improv Miami prizes.
Laughing Gas can be seen on Friday and Saturday nights at the Main Street Playhouse. Curtain time for all shows is 11 p.m., and admission is $10. There is never a drink minimum, or age restriction. For reservations, call .
